Drapery Arms
A drapery arm (or portiere rod) provides a smart solution for curtain panels, door curtains and dormer windows.

Drapery arms are slotted into a bracket that allows the pole to swing. They are often used to cover a door and help prevent draughts and heat loss.
When using a drapery arm to cover a door, you can fit a bracket to the door which holds the arm against the door when it opens and closes.
A pair of drapery arms used together provide a useful window dressing option for dormer windows, especially where there is insufficient room to fit a pole above the window. The 2 arms meet in the middle, usually with a disc finial on the end of the arm, and can be swung back against the wall to open the curtains. This allows you to have curtains inside a dormer window, without having light restricted by the stacked curtains when they are drawn back during the day. An optional wall support bracket can be used to hold the arm against the wall, if required.
Drapery arms are also used to hold decorative curtain panels which may be used to separate part of a room.
Drapery arms or portiere rods can be fitted to door frames or walls. For details on how to measure up for a drapery arm please see our drapery arm measuring guide
