Wrought Iron Curtain Pole with Balls
Wrought Iron Curtain Pole with Balls
One of the benefits of a solid pole is that the material is the same as the finials and fixings, so all the components match. The natural beauty of the steel is finished with a resilient wax.

What is included?
Every pole comes with two removable finials, two end brackets, black slotted screws, wall plugs and an allen key to tighten the grub screws that secure the finials to the pole.
The screws supplied are 45mm x 5mm stainless steel, blackened in the forge and waxed to match the fittings.
16mm poles over 140cm and 20mm poles over 180cm are supplied with a horizontal centre bracket. All poles over 200cm are supplied in two pieces with a spigot join.
If you order rings you will receive 1 ring per 10cm of the pole length you select.

Measuring guidelines
Please supply the length of the pole excluding the finials - measurement A.
Allow space for the curtains to stack on either side of the window (B). Typically, 15 to 30 cm each side, depending on the curtain width and thickness.
Check there is enough space for the finials (C).
Curtains should hang below the pole so they cover the eye of the ring, but leave the rings exposed and let the heading lie flush.
Printable guidelines
All measurements are approximate - each item is handmade.
Finials slide over the end of the pole and secure with grub screws. We add the length of pole that fits inside the finials to the length you specify.

Brackets
Our most popular bracket length is 6 cm (from the wall to the centre of the pole). 4 cm, 8 cm and 10 cm are also available, as are recess, ceiling fix and bespoke brackets.
You may need longer brackets if you have a sill or radiator. The further your curtains are from the wall, the more light seeps around the sides.
Eyelet curtains often make deep folds in the curtains and need longer brackets; you can fold the curtain and measure the distance from the centre of the eyelet to the edge of the fold to decide how far the pole should be from the wall. -
Fitting
You will need a 7mm drill bit for masonry (or a smaller drill bit to make a pilot hole in wood), a measuring tape, spirit level and someone to help hold the pole in place. We supply screws, wall plugs and a key to tighten the grub screws.
